Precautions for Regular Inspection of Multi Media Filters
October 17, 2024
After one year of normal production, multi-media filters should be inspected regularly to ensure safe operation without accidents within the second year. In order to shorten the downtime of regular inspections, if the number of inspectors and maintenance workers permits, it should be carried out at the same time as the inspection of other equipment and devices in the water station. If any abnormality is found during the inspection, it must be handled in time and resolved.
1. Filler inspection
Inspect the
Quartz Sand Filter material. If the quartz sand is seriously contaminated, it should be replaced completely.
2. Internal fastener inspection
Check the bolts, nuts and other fasteners in the filter. If they are loose, tighten them again.
3. Internal cleaning
After flushing with water, clean the inside of the filter with a waste cloth strip.
4. Refill the filter material
Refill the filter material according to the specified quantity and requirements, measure whether the filling amount reaches the required amount, and replenish the insufficient part (generally, the filter material of quartz sand and activated carbon mixed needs to be replaced once a year, depending on the water quality.)
5. Manhole sealing gasket inspection
Check whether the manhole sealing gasket is deformed. If deformed, it should be replaced. Soak the bolts and nuts in cleaning oil to thoroughly remove rust; apply butter to the bolts and nuts when installing the manhole cover.
